The Staxx Brothers are a high energy American band, hailing from Seattle, Washington, that's spent seven years short of score, crafting the intoxicating sound they've branded Hard Ass Soul. It's quite simply the most danceable and hip shaking brand of rock & roll to hit US streets since Motown left Detroit.
Where modern Rock has most often has forgotten its Roll, The Staxx Brothers make it back to the juke joint, and take you back to the black church, dragging modern rock by its collar right back to its birthright - with an epic flare that matches any of the classics.
The 24 year old, Portland native, Moorea Masa, brings an organic Northwest vibe to the more traditional R&B sounds. Profoundly moving, she blends sumptuous soul together with stripped-back folk harmonies. She has toured nationally as a solo act, and worked as a featured vocalist and backing singer with an array of artists, including El Vy, Allen Stone, Nick Waterhouse,The Decemberists, Ural Thomas and the Pain, and Nu Shooz. She released her debut EP last May, and is working on her next album in collaboration with producer Jmost (Emily King) which is set to be released next Spring.
