The UNTOUCHABLES Live at Don the Beachcomber October 13, 2012 7pm
The UNTOUCHABLES are a soul/mod revival band from the Silver Lake, Los Angeles, California area.  They formed in 1981 as part of the embryonic L.A. mod revival, after being inspired by the ska revival/punk rock band The Boxboys.

Their albums include:   Dance Party (1985);  Wild Child (1985);   Agent Double O Soul (1988);   Decade of Dance (1991);  Cool Beginnings  Rare & Unreleased 19811983;   Ghetto Stout (2000)

Their singles include:   "Twist n Shake" b/w "Dance Beat" (1982);   "The General" b/w "Tropical Bird" (1983);   Live and Let Dance EP (1984);  "Free Yourself" (1985) (UK #26);  "I Spy for the FBI" (1985) (UK #59)

The Hula Girls are an Orange County-based  Rockabilly band with a "Hawaiian" twist.

Like a '32 Ford tearing through the International Marketplace in 1960 Honolulu, The Hula Girls have been busy preaching their self-described 'hulabilly' sounds all over Southern California. It's the upright bass thumping of Mr. Christian Kessler, the dizzying drumming of Mr. Doug Sanbourn, the Gretsch guitar twangin' of Mr. Spike Marble, and the smooth and haunting steel guitar!

They've played along side such modern rockabilly and modern surf legends as Dick Dale, Big Sandy, Dave Alvin, Thee Swank Bastards, Ape, The Tikiyaki Orchestra, Los Straitjackets, Wayne the Train Hancock, and Hot Rod Lincoln. It's up-tempo hapa haole, tiki, and surf themed music, all filtered through the late 1950's and early 60's rockabilly and rock n' roll sound.

There will be a DJ to spin tunes to keep the crowd movin' and grovin' into the late-night Happy Hour at Don the Beachcomber.
