Berkeley Choro Ensemble with Nando Duarte, guest artist, 7-string Brazilian guitar
This is a home concert in North Berkeley of Brazilian music, featuring Nando Duarte, Brazilian guitar, with Berkeley Choro Ensemble: Jane Lenoir, flute, Harvey Wainapel, clarinet, and Brian Rice, percussion. Rio de Janeiro native Nando Duarte currently resides in Los Angeles, where he is an active musician, playing guitar, and composing and arranging music for films and tv. His career as a seven-string guitarist led him to play, arrange, and/or produce the biggest names in Brazilian music, including Elza Soares, Gal Costa, Zélia Duncan, João Bosco, Nicolas Krassik, Yamandú Costa, Martnália, Moska, Maria Gadú, Adriana Calcanhoto, Walter Alfaiate, Zeca Pagodinho, Soraya Ravenle, Marisa Monte, Ney Matogrosso, Moyses Marques, Diogo Nogueira, among others. www.nandoduarte.net
Berkeley Choro Ensemble, formed in 2010, performs the music of Brazil, and specifically, choro music.
