This performance a part of the 7th Annual Improvaganza! 2012 Hawaii Festival of Improv. Improvaganza is Hawaii's only festival dedicated to improv comedy and improvised theatre.
*****************ABOUT THE GROUPS**************************
OIL IN THE ALLEY features invisible improv with audience input extracted in context and in character. The reunion tour has a realistic feel, as the former stars rhapsodize with the audience about their once-brilliant careers between performing three or four of their (improvised) greatest hits.
FUNBUCKET! is the craziest anything-can-happen show truely exploring what Improv can create. Fast, wild, and unpredictable experiences are created based on whatever objects the audience puts in the bucket each show. From the simplest item in your pocket to the perfect object from home, from books to action figures to car tires or whatever else your heart desires, Funbucket! is ready to bring you along for the ride.
"OUR PLAY" features two of the world greatest improv teachers and performers. Patti Stiles (Melbourne) and Joe Bill (Chicago) The duo demonstrates that despite the focus differences in their improv styles, there are many more things that the Improv legends have in common which makes their show such a beautiful thing to see. Ultimately, the magnificence of the performance comes from their diverse approaches and the their ability to support each other fiercely.
CONFIDENCE MEN: will perform an improvised two-act David Mamet play. Using the legendary American playwright's unique way with language, which includes rapid-fire dialogue, unfinished sentences, meaningful pauses, and
raucous cursing, Confidence Men elevate Mamet's style and make it their own
