Performing Arts Workshop: Street Arts and Creation in Non-Conventional Venues
Saturday January 14, 2017 at 10:00 am Duration: 4 hours (1h30m theory + 2h30m of practice)
The street arts hide distinctive features that make them highly necessary today, important assets for the construction of contemporary citizenship. Among the most notable are its ability to connect with spectators beyond specific cultural contexts, socioeconomic status, age, gender, sexual orientation or abilities; the possibility of learning and interacting with the exhibition space and assimilating and introducing as a protagonist the geography human, urban, political or social of each place; or the fact that they exist to understand the spectator as a proactive part in each representation.
The current street arts are also an inclusive disciplinary umbrella. They are an exciting artistic field where exchange, flexibility and fusion are key words, a space of creation in continuous movement, not suitable for dichotomous or static mentalities.
This workshop is aimed at professionals of the performing arts interested in creating in the public space and in non-conventional venues. It is a theoretical and practical approach that aims to provoke, move, oxygenate from the study and critical commentary of current concepts, actions and global references.
