Aaron Copland's Lincoln Portrait
History Center Leader Narrates Aaron Copland's Lincoln Portrait Performed by the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra February 20, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.
On Presidents Day, February 20th Andrew E. Masich will join the ranks of distinguished actors, statesmen and other dignitaries who have taken the podium to narrate Aaron Coplands Lincoln Portrait. The concert, which will be performed by the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra, takes place at 7:00 p.m. Dollar Bank Foundation is sponsoring the program at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall. Mezzo soprano Katherine Soroka joins the Orchestra to sing a selection of Copland's Old American Songs.
A dessert reception in the Lincoln Gallery follows the performance. The Lincoln Gallery and the ACFL&MH's rare Civil War room, the Captain Thomas Espy Post of the Grand Army of the Republic will be open on Presidents Day from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., then again after the concert.
Free shuttle services from the parking lot on E. Main Street, opposite Carnegie Coffee Company.
The concert is the fourth Music Hall performance of this iconic ode to the sixteenth President of the United States, and the third in what has become a signature ACFL&MH Presidents Day event.
Doors open at 6:30PM and the program begins at 7:00PM. Free shuttle service from downtown parking areas will be available. The concert will be followed by a reception with light snacks and a cash bar.
Tickets: $15 in advance, $20 at the door, children/students with I.D. $5.
Advance ticket sales end at Noon on Saturday, February 18.
After that,any remaining tickets will be available at the door at the $20 price,
