Zine Making with Josh Sullivan
Daddy Kool Records and Keep St.Pete Lit are coming together to showcase zines in monthly workshops. On the second Wednesday of every month we will have a new speaker to talk about different aspects of zines. From creating, producing to the history behind zines we hope to inspire people to create their own!
January's Workshop: This class will touch upon screen printing and silk-screening but will heavily focus on printing methods, picking paper, layouts, technique and desktop publishing.
About the Instructor: Josh Sullivan has been self-publishing comics and 'zines over the past two decades. In 2009, Josh took a yearlong trip around the United States where he stayed in a different city each week. That experience led to the 52-issue 'zine series "Fifty-Two Friends", which chronicled stories during his travels. Josh's art has been nominated for an Ignatz Award in the Outstanding Mini-Comic category and his work was featured in the Tampa Bay Times, Creative Loafing, San Diego Union-Tribune and the National Examiner.
