The Basement Company presented by HomeGrown Theater - 2nd Run!
HomeGrown Theater (homegrowntheater.com) presents "The Basement Company" Tuesday-Thursday, Sept. Oct 2-4 at the Linen Building, 1402 W. Grove St. in Downtown Boise's Linen District. Doors at 6:30 p.m., show at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 general, $8 students and seniors. Advance tickets available at brownpapertickets.com. The play is appropriate for 15 and older. Plenty of free, off-street parking is available at the Linen Building.

Directed by Sarah Gardner, "The Basement Company" is a dark comedy about a desperate playwright who is struggling to get his play produced, so he kidnaps the city's best actors and forces them to produce the play in his basement. The play is written by local writer Adam Harrell, a graduate of Idaho State University, and will be acted by Dakotah Brown (ISF actor), Veronica Von Tobel (ISF actress), Rod Wolfe (ISF actor) and Justin Ness (ISF actor).

ABOUT HOMEGROWN THEATER

HomeGrown Theater (homegrowntheater.com) is establishing its presence in the Boise community by focusing on LOCAL: Local actors, local playwrights, local carpenters, architects, photographers, artists and designers. Our hope is to utilize all the wonderful talent that is present within the surrounding area.

HomeGrown Theater's goal is to produce three main stage productions a year, supported by a monthly reading series called BLiP (plays in a BLiP of time). Our show selection for our main stage shows focuses on local playwrights or uncommon productions/themes produced in Boise.

In BLiP, we choose a new playwright each month and exhibit our local actors in a reading of the play. This takes place at local bookstore Hyde Park Books, owned by Jem Wierenga, the last Tuesday of every month. If you're interested in submitting a play, e-mail Artistic Director Janessa Nichole White at homegrowntheater@gmail.com.
