A Walk in the Woods
February 24, 25, 26 and March 3, 4, and 5, the Plaza Playhouse Theater in association with DIJO Productions is pleased to bring you "A Walk in the Woods".
Lee Blessing's Broadway play about two diplomats during the (first) Cold War ostensibly trying to reduce nuclear arms proliferation is both dramatic and funny, and just the type of historical play that DIJO Productions has built a reputation on presenting.
A seasoned Russian negotiator (Edward Giron) has a new American counterpart (William Waxman), an exceptionally skilled and highly regarded theorist without international experience. Their walks in the woods are to result in a nuclear treaty between their two countries. Timely and intriguing with many touches of humor, Lee Blessing's A Walk in the Woods is thought provoking as well as emotionally touching. Based on the relationship of two actual Cold War negotiators, the play examines the tension that Russia and the US experience at this moment through a distant lens.
Directed by Jerry Oshinsky, DIJO Productions founder, "A Walk in the Woods" pairs Giron and Waxman once again. They've played opposite each other previously as Drummond and Bradyin"Inherit the Wind" and Felix and Oscar in "The Odd Couple."
A Walk in the Woods will run February 24, 24, 26 and March 3 4, and 5, 2017. Performances are Fridays at 8 pm, Saturdays at 8 pm, and Sundays at 3 pm. There is a special invited preview on February 23at 8 pm.
General admission is $17 and Students and Seniors are $13. Groups of 10 or more are $11 per person.
