The Family Project
Kuntz and Company presents The Family Project....a piece exploring the stories, experiences and relationships of local families. The Family Project is an original piece created by over 20 Whatcom County families in collaboration with Ian Bivins, Vanessa Daines, Angela Kiser, Harrison Holtzman-Knott, Pam Kuntz and Zach Wymore.
This is the twelfth in a series of performance pieces created by Kuntz that have explored a wide range of social and personal issues using the stories of local community members. Past pieces include The Mom Project (2005), That one Curve (2006), Stories from Jim and Jo (2010), and Leave my Shoes by the Door (2011). Using dance as the vehicle for delivering these stories, performers provide a revealing, sensory experience that makes public those things we don't normally talk about.
Seven public performances of The Family Project will be held at the Firehouse Performing Arts Center, 1314 Harris Avenue, Bellingham, WA on two consecutive weekends beginning Friday October 5th. Performance dates Oct 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 PM and Sunday performances begin at 5:00 PM. A post show discussion will immediately follow the Saturday performances. Admission is $15.00. Tickets available beginning September 10th at Village Books, Brownpapertickets.com, and at the door.
The Family Project is supported in part by the Washington State Arts Commission.
