BROKEN FLOWERS -- new work by ALDancers
People are born to be loved. Things are made to be used. Lives go wrong when things are loved and people used.
Choreographer Agnieszka Laska is known for creating provocative works related to the most painful issues of our time: The Fall '01, Lamentatio, Homeland Insecurity, take us to 9/11s ground zero, Middle East battle fields, Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, through airport body scans and into the very heart and soul of humanity's suffering.
ALD's newest work BROKEN FLOWERS, addressing the painful subject of teen sex slavery and human trafficking with music from the Marzena Music release Hendrix Uncovered.
Every year in the US alone, over 100,000 children (some as young as 11) are forced into prostitution. This national human tragedy demands exposure, action, termination - polemic art is a start.
Only 3 performances in Portland before we hit the road for a Mexico tour.
