J. Gary Sparks - Living the Spirit in Matter (Workshop)
Saturday Workshop: Living the Spirit in Matter: An Introduction to Marie-Louise von Franz's Number and Time
Through the image of number, Marie-Louise von Franz's wonderful work examines the link between spirit and matter, between the transcendental dimension of life and everyday events. In Saturday's workshop we will explore the main points of her book and consider in depth the motifs which von Franzand before her Carl Jung in conversation with Wolfgang Paulihave presented in their bridging meaning and matter. The archetypal symbolism of numbers in dreams, as well as the experience of synchronicity, spirit, the psychoid, mandalas, and creative eros, will be among the themes that receive consideration. Seminar format: with images, group activity to interpret representative dreams, and plenty of time for discussion.
Learning Objectives: 1. to familiarize participants with the role of dreams and fantasies in the therapy of scientists. 2. to familiarize participants with the role and interpretation of meaningful coincidences in therapy. 3. to familiarize participants with the importance of number symbolism as images of individuation in dream interpretation.
