Donor Opium/The War Around Us
Donor Opium/25min
Almost two decades after the Oslo Peace Agreement was signed Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip are still occupied. Their government and lives are no longer sustained by various forms of popular resistance but by enormous amounts of donor aid. Close to $ 15 billion dollars has been poured into the occupied territories by mostly Western donors. This film explores the politics and the abuses of both the donors and the government and NGO's which receive the aid, how this money has been spent and why, despite this aid, Palestinians are now poorer than they were before Oslo.
