September 26th Program

At our Wednesday, September 26th meeting we are delighted to host Tom Bedecarré, Chairman of AKQA, the highly awarded digital advertising agency which was recently acquired by WPP, the world's largest marketing communications services group. Tom is one of the most influential leaders in advertising today. Fortune magazine recently named him "Silicon Valley's favorite adman" and cited him for being a "rare hybrid that has cred with techies and Mad Men alike."

With eight offices in the U.S., Europe and Asia and headquarters in London, AKQA works with global brands including: Audi, Delta, Google, Microsoft, Nike, Target, Verizon Wireless and Visa to ensure they win in the digital age. In addition, Tom is also President of WPP Ventures, a new Silicon Valley based company which explores digital investment opportunities for WPP.

Tom has been an innovator and pioneer in the advertising and communications business for more than three decades. This spring Ernst & Young recognized him as "Entrepreneur of the Year" for his leadership in the marketing services industry. Before AKQA, Tom was founder and CEO of Citron Haligman Bedecarré, San Francisco's largest independent advertising agency.
