MID-WEST SIDE STORY starring BRIAN DAMSON
Originally from Grand Rapids, Brian Damson's career has spanned the globe as an entertainer. Equally at home in on the legit stage, in a Las Vegas revue, on 5 Star Cruise Ships or European nightclubs working with such names Joan Rivers, Don Rickles and Alan King - Brian has done it all. After moving to Los Angeles he took on several acting jobs and was honored with the Best New Performer at the Los Angles Theatre Critics Choice Awards. A trip to Palm Springs proved to be his calling so he made the move and has since been performing locally and gaining fans in such productions as last seasons Cabaret Theater West's Lullaby Of Broadway.
It was too long after his move that Brian reunited with his hometown friend, Michael Sobie, with whom he had previously worked on a number of local theater and cabaret productions. Michael also has a long list of theatrical credits with dozens of regional theater productions as either the pianist or musical director as well as national tours of such Broadway hits as Les Miserables, Xanadu, Wicked, Altar Boyz, Aida, Hairspray, and Mamma Mia. Mid-West Side Story will weave music from several genres mixed with a lot of humor, much of it based on Brian and Michael's upbringing in you guessed it - the Midwest.
"Mid-West Side Story" starring Brian Damson with Michael Sobie on piano is being presented at The Arthur Newman Theatre located in The Joslyn Center, 73-750 Catalina Way in Palm Desert.
