Broadway Master Class February 9 Pinehurst NC
Enjoy this master class as a participant OR observer conducted by Broadway NYC actors Jason Gotay (Broadways "Spiderman" and "Bring It On') and Elysia Jordan ("Billy Elliott" and NYC concert soloist and cabaret artist). Participants bring in one song to work on, get to sing it, get critiques and sing it with the new feedback. Approximately 15 minutes per participant will be allotted. Observers can watch the entire class and take notes on techniques with paper and pen. NO taping of any kind will be allowed Cell phones and other electronic devices checked at the door.
Jason Gotay, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, is an actor who has appeared both on and off Broadway, as well as regionally and on television. Broadway credits include Bring It on: the Musical (Randall, Original Broadway and Touring Companies), Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark (Peter Parker/Spider-Man). TV: NBC'S Peter Pan Live (Tootles/Lost Boy). Regional Highlights: World Premiere of Disney's Freaky Friday (Adam) at the Signature Theater, World Premiere of A Bronx Tale (Calogero) at the Paper MIll Playhouse, Into the Woods (Jack), Mamma Mia! (Sky) at the St. Louis MUNY. He can be heard on the Original Cast Recordings of Bring It On: the Musical and Disney's Freaky Friday. Jason is also a Teaching Artist/Director in Brooklyn, New York, and holds a BFA in Acting with a Minor in Musical Theater from Marymount Manhattan College.
Elysia has been a featured soloist at various New York City venues including 54 Below, Playwrights Horizons, the Manhattan Theatre Club Creative Center, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, and the Lincoln Center Songbook Series. Nationally, she has sang at Feinstein's at the Nikko in San Fransisco and the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Regional credits include playing Dead Mum in BILLY ELLIOT at both the Ogunquit Playhouse and North Shore Music Theatre. She graduated with distinction from Ithaca College with a BFA in Musical Theatre and in her spare time, coaches students around the world for their college theatre auditions with MTCA (Musical Theatre College Auditions).
