What Works II
What Works II is an evening culmination of nearly three years of choreographic research practice. Using taught dance workshops across three continents, the body stories of so many dancers and non-dancers, the collaboration of varying musical and film artist and finally the social struggle of humans across the globe. Megan Curet used these tangible and intangible evidences to create the four works you will see tonight, in aim to answer the undying question, what more can dance offer and create in the spectrum of social and political dialogue? How do we engage the audience outside of the theater to question, challenge and continue the fight for equality and humanitarian justice? Is this even possible to accomplish through dance? What Works II is a dialogue between the moving body and the audience. We hope to incite and inspire you this evening and we thank you for joining us and most importantly, we dedicate this evening to all those suffering injustice across the globe. Tonight we tell your story, and we dance for you.
