Advanced Hearth Cooking
This class is aimed at the individual who has spent some time around an open hearth and a bake oven before and wants to go beyond the basics. We will spend two days in the Tavern cooking and baking dishes that will take more time and skill to prepare than the dishes made in the introduction class.
This is a two-day class: Saturday, February 11, from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., and Sunday, February 12, from Noon - 4:30 p.m.
This class is definitely for those who have taken an open hearth class before. If you have not had experience with open hearth cooking, we also offer the Introduction to Hearth Cooking class on February 4, 2017.
Dan Silfies is a living history interpreter at Landis Valley Museum who specializes in historic foodways and inkle weaving. He graduated from Kutztown University with a degree in History and a minor in Pennsylvania German Studies.
