Introduction to Hearth Cooking
This class is meant for individuals who have little to no experience cooking with an open hearth fireplace. Students will have the chance to use the various cooking implements as they make a selection of recipes that will result in a late afternoon meal for the class.
Dan Silfies is an living history interpreter whose specialty is open hearth cooking and baking the outdoor bake oven. He graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor's degree in History and a Pennsylvania German Studies minor.
