Seattle Metals Guild Northwest Jewelry and Metals Symposium 2012
The Symposium is a concentrated day of presentations designed to educate and inspire. But it is much more than sitting and listening. It is truly a melting pot -- a networking crucible -- where practitioners, teachers, students, collectors, full-time makers, hobbyists, dabblers, Seattle Metals Guild members and non-members -- anyone interested in art, craft, jewelry and metalsmithing -- can mix together and learn more about each other and the field that we are all drawn to. Throughout the day, connections are made, acquaintances renewed and eyes are opened to new ideas and possibilities. It only happens one day each year and it leaves a lasting impression on those who attend. Our presenters this year are: Kevin Glenn Crane, Julia Harrison, Merrily Tompkins and Phillp Baldwin who has stepped in to speak about Bernard Hosey and his lifetime of work. The event will also include a panel of four experts who will talk about the outsourcing services and opportunities that they provide locally. All the features that make the Symposium a well-rounded and dynamic day will be there: The Silent Auction, Charone Kransen's books-a-palooza, the Resource Table and the High School Teachers' Meet and Greet.
