Before The Flood Movie Screening
RSVP not required. First come, first serve
Climate change is the single greatest threat to a sustainable future but, at the same time, addressing the climate challenge presents a golden opportunity to promote prosperity, security and a brighter future for all. - Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary General, United Nations
Climate change is perhaps the most important issue of our time, and yet, many of us still struggle to fully understand it. What does climate change look like right now, how does it touch us all in our daily lives, and what can we do to combat it?
Join your friends from the Ethical Writers and NYC Fair Trade Coalitions at the Patagonia SoHo store for a screening of National Geographic's documentary, Before The Flood. This recently released documentary follows Leonardo DiCaprio as he travels around the world to meet with key experts and world leaders as well as witness with his own eyes the effects of climate change. This community viewing, complete with sustainably harvested and ethically produced refreshments by REBBL and Long Island Winery, will help you understand the realities of our planet today. Before The Flood highlights not only the astonishingly frightful, but also the astounding beauty and capability that humanity has, if we are willing to take this opportunity for a brighter future.
We invite you to not only learn, but to engage with your fellow New Yorkers and community members of all ages, identities and professions. This local event will introduce you to new friends and collaborators as well as new strategies for combatting climate change in your daily life.
