BRIDGING GAPS CONCERT SERIES -
Queen Bee's Art and Cultural Center in conjunction with series sponsor Jim Hush, Ascent Real Estate Inc. with support from Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps are proud to announce the opening concert of this years 3 concert Bridging Gaps Series, One Music, One World.
Barry Green, former Principal Bassist of the Cincinnati Symphony, is breaking new ground in San Diego concerning World Music, bringing multitudes of cultures together in one place to experience the feeling of unity, joy and inspiration.
Green's imaginative and creative programs are collaborations with guest soloists as well as ensembles, dancers, singers and multi-media productions. Green's previous concerts in 2011 and 2012 received critical acclaim by the San Diego Union Tribune critic Jim Chute:"intriguing, innovative, creative."
Middle East Conflict Sept 30, 2012 Middle East Conflict: Klezmer meets Arab Neighbors: Sept 30 Middle-Earth Ensemble and Nationally acclaimed belly dancer: Rachel plus Yiddish singer Deborah Davis from Second Ave Klezmer Ensemble and assisting artists.
ABOUT THE CONCERT
The current September 30th Middle East Conflict: Klezmer meets Arab Neighbors, co-hosted by Rabbi Alexis Pearce and Doris Bittar, Middle East artist will feature 2nd Avenue Klezmer vocalist Deborah Davis with bassist Barry Green, keyboardist Paul Kenyon and assisting artists. The Middle Earth Ensemble led by Frank Lazzaro including belly dancer Rachel will perform works from Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey, and Arab neighbors. There will be visuals, videos and spoken dialogue including surprise presentation from the Middle East in an inspiring collaborative evening of music, words, images and dance.
