FAMILY BUSINESS - by Alicia Foxworth - Winterfest Theater Festival Competition 2017
It is July in 1833 and just days before the Independence celebration in Kellington, New York. Bartholomew Windley learns that he is finally emancipated, thanks to his good friend Madison Fox. But Madisons uncle, the Mayor Eamon Fox has different ideas about the impact of letting the enslaved go free. Thus, begins the unraveling of the familys lucrative business.
