Painting in the Open Air
Christensen Farm
Browntown, WI
Share this event:

Enjoy an opportunity to paint outside in the fields and meadows of Christensens Farm with artist Sharon Christensen, sister of farmer Katy.  Children ages 8 and over are welcome with a ticketed adult and their own ticket (for the child).

We will take our art supplies and find an inspirational setting to create a lasting memory of the beautiful countryside of Southern Wisconsin's Driftless area.  Sharon will provide technique coaching in whichever medium you choose, watercolors, pastels, pencil, or acrylic.  Supplies will be provided but you are more than welcome to bring some of your own.

A free copy of Renewing the Countryside: WISCONSIN will be given away to every family, couple and/or household registered for a particular workshop (a $26.95 value); the free book giveaway is limited to one copy per residential address of attendees.

About the Art Instructor, Sharon Christensen

Artist, Sharon Christensen grew up on a dairy farm in south-central Wisconsin where she developed a love for the area's rolling agricultural landscape. This familiar farmland scenery, with its red and white buildings dotting the hills and valleys, provides an endless source of inspiration for creating art. Her depictions of plants and flowers are shown up-close, while her landscapes offer a more expansive view invariably topped off with a sky full of big fluffy clouds. Her unique translation of natural shapes, colors, and patterns into simplified and idealized images, often on a miniature scale, defines her style.  She taught elementary art for ten years along Lake Michigan's shore, but is now excited to be starting a new artistic adventure in country life on the other side of the state.

About Christensen Farm
