Josh Silver, Jackson's Oven at Worth Our Weight Visiting Chef Dinner!
Join us for a fantastic dinner by Chef Josh Silvers of Jackson's Oven, to benefit Worth Our Weight Culinary Apprentice Program.
Josh Silvers is the Chef Owner of Jacksons Bar and Oven located in the historic Railroad Square district of Santa Rosa. Guided by a passion for food and a long standing family tradition, Chef Silvers combines classical training with a slightly unorthodox style and an abundance of influences found in the Bay Area. Josh credits his father, Don Silvers, for launching his interest in restaurants arranging for him to train under Chef Barry Marcillac at the City Hotel in Columbia, California, a 3-star restaurant. It was there Chef Silvers found his passion for all aspects of the culinary art. After garnering a firm foundation in classically French technique, he continued his official training under Cindy Pawlson at Mustards Grill in Napa where he learned a freer style of California home-style cooking. Chef Silvers travelled throughout the 80s and early 90s mastering the techniques of professional cooking and finding his own inspiration and personal vision for the culinary arts. In 2004, Regina had a son and Chef Silvers became a dad. One thing he noticed as a new father was that it was hard to find a local restaurant that served wholesome, good, casual food in a fun environment. Thus, Jacksons Bar and Oven was born, named after Chef Silvers son Jackson. Jacksons is a hip restaurant centered around a wood fired oven with cool cocktails to match the all-American favorites with Silvers special twist.
Worth our Weight wants to thank Chef Josh Silvers for donating his talent and time to the Worth Our Weight Culinary Program. Come experience what Chef Josh and the apprentices cook up!
