Brooklyn by the Book presents George Saunders
In Lincoln in the Bardo, George Saunders delivers his most original, transcendent, and moving work yet. Unfolding in a graveyard over the course of a single night, Lincoln in the Bardo is an unforgettable story of familial love and loss centered around the the death of Abraham Lincoln's son in the early days of the Civil War. When Willie Lincoln finds himself in a strange purgatory where ghosts mingle, gripe, commiserate, quarrel, and enact bizarre acts of penance, a monumental struggle erupts over his young spirit. Narrated by a dazzling chorus of voices, Saunders's long-awaited first novel is a large-hearted, stylistically daring journey into the dark night of our nation's soul. Tickets are $35 for general admission and $32 for BPL and CBE members. All tickets include (1) copy of Lincoln in the Bardo.
