12 years of Winter Celebration
Grab your outdoor bucket list and adventure buddies to tune into a night of human-powered winter celebration at the 12th annual Backcountry Film Festival. Produced by the Boise-based nonprofit, Winter Wildlands Alliance, the tour shows at the Jim Santy Auditorium on February 9th; doors open at 6:00 pm, films start at 6:30 pm.
The Backcountry Film Festival is renowned for its collaboration with filmmakers from all corners of the globe, ranging grassroots to professional. Chances are that you will bump into some of these talented folks during OR. The festival provides a fresh line(up) committed to get everyone, van dwellers to weekend warriors, awakened to the powder turns as well as environmental initiatives happening all around the world.
All proceeds benefit Wasatch Backcountry Alliance.
Wasatch Backcountry Alliance works to inform, represent and advocate for winter recreation in the Wasatch Range. Wasatch Backcountry Alliance is the recognized voice for the backcountry community involved in human-powered winter recreation in the Central Wasatch Mountains.

The Backcountry Film Festival is produced each year by Winter Wildlands Alliance as a celebration of the human-powered experience and a gathering place for the backcountry snowsports community. The festival will tour over 100 towns from November to late March. Funds raised at each screening stay in the local community to support human-powered recreation and conservation efforts, winter education and avalanche/safety programs and to raise awareness of winter land management issues.
