PRESENTATION: SR99 Alaskan Way Viaduct
The replacement for the SR99 Alaskan Way Viaduct is a single-bore, double deck tunnel that is nearly 60 in diameter and the result of a collaborative agreement between WSDOT, the City of Seattle and the Port of Seattle. Although not without some pauses, the design-build contract is nearing completion of the nearly 2 mile tunnel underneath downtown Seattle, and is projected to accept traffic by early 2019. This will be an update on the tunnel and overall program for this presentation.
PRESENTER: Joe Clare PE, PMP, Mott MacDonald
Mr. Clare has more than 21 years of experience in all phases of project delivery from planning and preliminary analysis to construction management for both large mega programs to smaller individual projects. His expertise is in the design and construction of tunnels, shafts, and underground space for wastewater, water, transit, and transportation infrastructure projects with construction costs up over $3 billion. He has been in leadership roles on many of Seattle area tunnels including as Deputy Construction Manager for the Denny Way CSO program, Project Manager for the Brightwater and Fremont Siphon tunnel projects and currently as the Program Engineer for Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement Program. Joe graduated from the University of Washington and currently works for Mott MacDonald.

COST:
The member price for this event is $32.00 if you register before 12:00 Noon on the Monday immediately preceding the meeting; late registration is $37.00.
Non-members price is $39.00 before 12:00 Noon on the Monday immediately preceding the meeting, and $45.00 thereafter.
Please note that registration will be closed Monday, January 9th, at 8:00 pm.
A very limited of first come first served meals will be available at the door.

AACE Seattle Section meets the 2nd Thursday of each month from September through May (excluding December). Each meeting with a technical presentation qualifies for .25 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) towards your CCP/CEP/CFCC/DRMP/EVP/PSP recertification requirements.
