East Shore LIVE: The Rhythm of Life
Life is rhythm. Feel your breathing. Listen to your heartbeat. Watch the changing of the seasons. Your life is a song unfolding in time. Join us on January 21st for the opening concert of East Shore Live: A Performance Gallerys 2017 season - a celebration of rhythm, dance and music. Featuring dance company Alchemy Tap Project and singer/songwriter Jan Jaffe, this unique and dynamic duet for dance and music will fill you with joy!
Founded in 2012, the Alchemy Tap Project is a performance company for serious tap dancers. Directed by former Cirque du Soleil dancer Josh Scribner, ATP's mission is to keep the art of tap dance alive and relevant to future generations. With choreography for everything from jazz and classical to electronic and hip hop, ATP strives to demonstrate the versatile potential of a classic American art form. Follow us on Facebook: www.facebook.com/AlchemyTapProject/
Jan Jaffe is a diverse singer-songwriter. A product of her classical training & classic-rock loving parents, her guitar/piano/vocal originals also show hints of alternative rock, folk, and jazz. Audiences are engaged with thoughtful lyrics, personal stories & the occasional interactive song. Jan currently serves as the music director at the UU church in Ellensburg, where she also teaches music/life skills to students of all ages. Jans non-musical diversions include visual & theatre arts, travel, puppies & babies (...well, one baby in particular).
Performers: Choreographer/performer Josh Scribner and Singer/Songwriter Jan Jaffe With featured dancers: Parker Albin, Kelly Colegrove, Hunter Kennedy, Ciera Lallemand, Erica Olavarria, Brianna Penrose, Camryn Poling, Lucie Saether, Madeline Vaught, Kofi Williams
