Pat Donohue
Seattle Folklore Society is excited to welcome Grammy winning fingerpicker Pat Donohue to our spring concert series. Pat's devotion to acoustic guitar has made him an American standard, as he echoes the tones of Robert Johnson, Blind Blake, Merle Travis or Muddy Waters. A versatile guitarists guitarist, Pat enjoys entertaining fans with intricate fingerpicking, easy wit, and nimble interpretations of old blues, swing, R&B and original tunes.

For over twenty years Pat was the lead guitar player and songwriter for the Guys All Star Shoe Band on the NPR favorite A Prairie Home Companion.  Pat is now touring the US playing a variety of venues including Performance Halls, Coffeehouse series and in blues, folk and eclectic listening rooms. Pat also conducts guitar workshops and teaches at prestigious guitar camps across the country.

Pat recently released his new recording, Blue Yonder. He is accompanied on some cuts by members of the Prairie All Stars who were also members of the Guys All Star Shoe Band.  There are also solo tracks on the CD, clever new original songs as well three new instrumental numbers.

If it were easy, every finger-style guitarist would play as well as Pat Donohue. A Midwesterner with the rhythm of a drummer and the soul of a New Orleans saxophonist, Donohue has the fingers of the worlds finest guitarists. Dirty Linen

A masterful guitarist and talented singer-songwriter of the blues, folk, and jazz... Donohue is a natural entertainer who possesses bundles of charm and wit. Los Angeles Times

"Great performance, everyone loved Pat. His humor, personality and occasional singing really set him apart from other guitar gods that lose audience interest."  Mark Young- Full Moon Concert Series, MI

Pat performs with the wit and wisdom of a Prairie Home companion legend. Never misses a lick and delivers the punchline.     David Beaton Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center WSLR LPFM SARASOTA, FL -Mar 2016

Tickets are $18 ($2 discount for SFS and PNA members, students and seniors), $9 for youth. Day of show tickets at the door if still available, will be $2 more for adults ($20/$18/$9). Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30 start.
