Muddy Ruckus - Wise Old Moon - The Look Backs
Muddy Ruckus is an Americana-rock duo from Portland, Maine. The stripped down power duo features guitarist Ryan Flaherty and percussionist Erika Stahl. The band blends roots guitar and edgy percussion on a suitcase trim kit and is known for a full rock band sound, despite being a duo. They season their music with the salt of the eastern old ports, back road electric grooves, and the mud of the Mississippi River where Flaherty grew up. The New York Music Daily calls Muddy Ruckus "Darkly Inventive Americana". In April 2016, Muddy Ruckus was awarded "Best in State of Maine" by the New England Music Awards. http://www.muddyruckus.com/
Swampy, dirty, gritty, gorgeous? A little dark, a little light and a wonderful balance make this band one to watch in the next year. - Red Line Roots
Wise Old Moon has been showcasing their distinct brand of twang-infused indie roots/rock since early 2013 when frontman Connor Zane Millican returned from traveling the open roads of the American West after leaving his hometown of Hartford, CT at a young age. Upon his arrival to New England, Millican set out to form a band that would pay homage to the long-standing tradition of folk and Americana music while breathing new life into the genre with a high-octane live energy and a unique brand of songwriting inspired by the desert plains and mountain ranges of the Midwest. http://wiseoldmoonband.com/
Jonathan Blakeslee & the Look Backs hail from Eliot, Maine and the Seacoast of New Hampshire. Their music has been tagged joyful rock, taking inspiration from indie, roots, surf and garage rock. The band emerged from a surf instrumental project called Tiger Belly, with a tight rhythm section and Jonathan's Fender Jazzmaster guitar lines. The new band adds Blakeslee's vocal tunes with songs about rejection, shopping, noodles and other themes. With drummer Eben Hearn, bassist Zach Smith (Jan 20 show w/ Marc McElroy on bass). http://www.thelookbacks.com/
