Children of the Silent Revolution L.A. Premiere
What are your dreams when you are 18 and what happens in the next 20 years? Children of the Silent follows the lives of a group of classmates from Bulgaria over a period of two decades, spanning the transition from communism to democracy in their country.
The documentary was filmed in Bulgaria, the U.S., England, Norway and Ireland and had its World Premier at the Sofia International Film Festival. This is the first showing in the United States.
The screening is presented by the Bulgarian Education and Culture Society "Pchela" and co-sponsored by the UCLA Department of Film and Television. The movie will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers and a reception.
Tickets will also be available at the door for $12.
Directions and Parking: The James Bridges Theater is located at Melnitz Hall on the UCLA Campus, just south of Sunset Blvd. and west of Hilgard Ave. From Hilgard Ave. turn onto Charles E. Young Dr. East and signs will direct you to Parking Structure 3. Park at the visitor spots and pay at the pay station before exiting the parking structure. Parking is $2/hr. Exit the parking structure on the side of Charles E. Young Dr. North, which is the "North" or "Permit" section of the parking structure. Melnitz Hall and the James Bridges Theater are located across Charles E. Young Dr. North. From level 1 of the parking structure, you can use the underpass and walk directly to the theater entrance. From level 2, you have to cross the street and go down the stairs to the theater. Please, arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow for parking. Make sure to display your parking receipt on the dashboard of your car to avoid getting a ticket.
