WHAT IS THIS?
Lets be simple... The 1st annual Red Deer Entertainment Awards is an opportunity, as a community to recognize the tireless efforts of our peers with in the Red Deer entertainment scene. THIS IS NOT A WHO'S BEST AT WHAT, but more of a who clearly deserves to be appreciated for their work and dedication to the overall well being and development of the Red Deer entertainment scene. Wait, that didn't really seem simple...
Year one brings some challenges... When we say some we mean many. That's ok as we are always up for a good challenge. Most notably, how do we pick the winners? How do we pick the nominees? How do include everyone? How do we be unbiased? Well it's easy actually. First We state that for the most part, this first year is NOT A COMPETITION. All though the general public will have the input on the 'Group Of The Year' award and a vote on 'Best New Group' award, the rest is simple... We just pick the obvious. Who can argue with some of the most prominent deserving recipients with in our scene. If you can, well that's cool. We are always willing to listen. But hey why argue? Why don't we just get together and celebrate all the accomplishments and efforts of the whole damn thing, all the while giving a nod to a few key members of the team. We are a team right? If we work together we can all win the same game.
