RMTC Presents: The Drowsy Chaperone
The Ryerson Musical Theatre Company (RMTC) is an student run organization dedicated to enriching the lives of those in and around the Ryerson community through musical theatre. RMTC gives students in all programs the opportunity to take part in an extra curricular musical production each year as we strive to connect students from all areas of study who have a passion and commitment to theatre.
The Drowsy Chaperone is a parody of an American musical comedy of the 1920s. The story concerns a middle-aged, asocial musical theatre fan; as he plays the record of his favourite musical, the (fictional) 1928 hit The Drowsy Chaperone, the show comes to life onstage as he wryly comments on the music, story, and actors.
