Blueberry Pruning Workshop
Love juicy, sweet just-picked blueberries from your own bushes? Not sure how to keep them performing at their best?
Join Master Gardeners Beth Goodnight and Karen Palmer for a workshop on blueberry pruning - Sunday, Jan. 22 from 1:30 to 3:30 PM.
Class starts at 1:30pm the Luke Jensen Sports Complex; 4000 NE 78th Street, Vancouver, WA 98665.
Well view a couple of short videos on blueberry pruning basics: when to prune, choosing which canes to cut, and where to cut them. We'll discuss tools, garden sanitation, and how pruning is part of a sustainable and organic approach to blueberry plant care and then well drive out to a nearby blueberry field to practice our skills. This entails a 5-10 minute walk up a steep hill. Those with mobility issues may drive.
Make this year your best blueberry season yet!
Dress appropriately for the weather and bring water, garden gloves, and a pair of sharpened loppers or hand bypass pruners if you have them.
This workshop is put on in conjunction with Clark County Public Health.
This class will fill up fast. No one will be admitted without advanced registration. No waitlist. No calls about waitlists please.
