A Grand Piano Tribute to the Grateful Dead: Rob Catterton
Join us at the OCA Sunday Salon for A Grand Piano Tribute to the Grateful Dead. Presented by Sonoma County-based pianist Rob Catterton, this is a solo piano exploration of classic GD jams including Dark Star, Morning Dew, Bird Song, The Other One and more. This multi-media presentation will include creative lighting and other surprises.
Rob Catterton first learned to improvise on piano at age fifteen, playing the music of the Grateful Dead. He has been passionate about the piano for fifty-two years, and states that playing music is really all Ive ever wanted to do. Classically trained, Rob has also studied jazz at Blue Bear School of Music for seven years. He is currently working on a second album of original music, as well as a Beatles tribute on piano.
