Andre Thierry in Concert
Grammy-nominated Zydeco legend Andre Thierry will bring down the house on Friday, February 24th, at Eagles Hall in Fort Bragg, California in a KZYX benefit concert.
Thierry can't be lumped into Zydeco's old-school R&B-influenced camp or its nouveau, rap-inspired one. He and his band lay down both soulful, traditional slow-dances and bottom-end-booming kinetic groovers creating a sound known as Alternative Creole.
At 36, he is already a legend. An exceptional multi-dimensional musician, he has a finely-honed ability to merge traditional Southwest Louisiana music with hip-hop, blues, jazz and rock. Building from his love and respect for his traditions, his original music is a blend of old and new, which he calls Alternative Creole. His musical mastery enables him to create a unique sound for his and future generations while staying true to the past.
KZYX invites you to come out and dance away the cold of winter. Doors open at 6:30. Come out and enjoy a home-brewed beer, local cider, or local wine with your friends. The show starts at 7:30.
