December 2016 is an ideal time to create a Personal Manifesto. From Wikipedia: Amanifestois a published verbal declaration of the intentions, motives, or views of the issuer, be it an individual, group, political party or government. The word manifesto comes from the Latin manifestum meaning clear or conspicuous.
For those who have previously attended Intuitive Expressive Art Journaling Practice sessions, creating a Personal Manifesto will both deepen and expand your journey of awareness and clarity. Your Personal Manifesto will serve as a mission statement and a document of your core values and strengths. In session, you will identify and record the questions, intentions, priorities and actions needing clarity and expression right now. You will illustrate your pages with drawing, collage and page layouts. You will assemble your work into an eight-page document that can be affordably and easily reproduced. Additionally, you can choose to join Keep St. Pete Lit at the St. Petersburg Zine Fest on January 14 to share/trade/sell your zine.
You do not need previous journal class attendance, visual art or writing experience to attend or benefit from this workshop; however, a strong commitment to the process is advised. Basic materials and supplies will be provided for sessions. Should you decide to sell at Zine Fest, all costs involved are on you. About the Instructor: Terry Lee Getz is a maker, a writer, a teacher and an intuitive counselor. She self-published a subscription zine entitled Pisces-Rising, Alchemy for Artists for five years, and her creative non-fiction, DIY articles and fiction have been published in art making periodicals and the book Kaleidoscope by North Light. Her work was selected for display at the American Craft Council, Mainsail, PAVA and other art fairs. She is a self-taught artist motivated for 60 years by intense curiosity; long-term personal studies include fairy tales, color, mandala-making, cross-cultural symbols and various spiritual systems.
