An evening of progressive jazz giants: Tectonic pianist Matthew Shipp, with Seattle bass ace Michael Bisio, and torrential drummer Whit Dickey, perform music from their recent Elastic Aspects. Their Art of the Improviser was on Allmusic's list of the best jazz albums in 20 years. Also on the bill: New York Is Now: one-of-a-kind multihornman Joe McPhee with two of the out-jazz best, bassist Dominic Duval and percussionist Jay Rosen, honor Ornette Coleman's early work.
