Spontaneous Broadway
Spontaneous Broadway, where performers audition Broadway-style songs that they have created on the spot, and then take the audience favorite and improvise an entire one-act musical around it an experience that must be seen to be believed!
Created by Kat Koppett in association with Freestyle Repertory Theatre Co. in New York City, SPONTANEOUS BROADWAY is a fictional backers audition for a new Broadway musical.
Act one: Audience members jot down never-before-sung song titles. Performers then improvise new Broadway musical numberson the spot!
The second act? A full-length improvised musical based on the audiences favorite number! SPONTANEOUS BROADWAY is a virtuoso piece that challenges improvisers and amazes audiences. TheatreWeek magazine named creator Koppett one of its unsung heroes of the year in honor of her invention of this exciting format!
