Event
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Experiential Fair
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in partnership with the Mecklenburg County System of Care Community Collaborative, invites you to participate in an exciting opportunity to engage the CMS Student Services Department, in an interactive Experiential Provider Fair. This event will be an innovative approach to informing CMS social workers, counselors, psychologist about viable resources in the community, including your organization. Participants will be divided into small groups and given mock case scenarios of students with a variety of needs and challenges. The case scenarios will reference an array of issues that affect children and their families; including emotional, behavioral and physical health, delinquency, homelessness, advocacy, housing, mentoring, vocational rehabilitation and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. School employees will visit the booths of various agencies to help determine how to best develop a plan to help the student in their scenario. Their plans will include the services your agencies provide. The goals of this type of learning opportunity are (1) to create a context for understanding the availability of services in the community and (2) to increase the likelihood of staff making well-informed referrals. For community stakeholders and providers, this event will create an opportunity to showcase your organization's array of services to the student services staff from all of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools. This event is open to community stakeholders and providers that support youth and their families in Mecklenburg County. Please be advised there will be 2 sessions and vendors are encouraged to have representation at both sessions.
