Rue Morgue Presents Michael Gingold's Movie Madness
Rue Morgue proudly presents Mike Gingold's Movie Madness, a 12 hour marathon of six of the best genre movies ever made, all on 35mm! To celebrate Mike's 50th birthday, he's sharing the weird movies he loves with the world!
Who is Michael Gingold? The unstoppable vampire of NYC horror, Gingold became managing editor of Fangoria magazine in 1990, and its editor-in-chief in 2015, before moving over to Rue Morgue. The most influential journalist in horror since Forrest J Ackerman, on the occasion of his 50th birthday he's sharing with the world six of his favorite movies, right before he's nailed inside his coffin and buried alive.
What are these movies? We won't tell you until their titles appear onscreen, but what we can say is that they're all exploitation classics ranging from goopy horror, to mind-melting action, to one freaky comedy that will scar you for life. You may have seen one or two of them before, but there's no way you've seen them all since at least two titles are so obscure they're not even available on DVD or Blu-Ray.
Come and eat cake, watch a child buried alive, witness the stupidest (aka "the best") robot movie ever made, and by the time it's over you will believe that even an annoying cyclops can cry.
