The line between myth and reality blurs when three American G.I.s are inadvertently shipwrecked on the tiny Icelandic island of Hrisey during World War II. Sent as an advance force to set up a radio base, the trio finds themselves with missing weapons, few supplies, and a radio that has no reason not to work. To make matters worse, Hrisey is in the throes of the worst storm that anyone can remember.

As the mysterious history of Hrisey's long-ago battle with pirate invaders comes slowly to light, the lines between fantasy and reality, between the past and the present, begin to blur, forcing the American soldiers to ask just who is defending whom.
