Hello!
Good news for the Party, but sorry, we're all SOLD OUT this year! Full to capacity of 100 guests plus volunteers, cooks, musicians... We've other events coming up in Edinburgh Green Party: see www.edinburghgreens.org.uk
Next weekend the same chefs and bar and organiser will be hosting a Burns' Supper and Ceilidh for the Peace & Justice Centre at the King's Hall (South Clerk Street). If you'd like to find out more and/or come along, please just visit www.ceilidhcollective.org
Hopefully we'll be back next year and possibly at a bigger venue! Register your interest now by firing an email to robin@boe.org.uk.
Go well, Robin.
(you can find links to the websites and details under the CONTACT section to the right of this notice)
--- We are delighted to present Edinburgh Green Party's inaugural Burns' Supper.
Members of Edinburgh's Carrie On Dancing will serenade us with old songs and spinning tunes. Please note this will be a old-style ceilidh with guests encouraged to offer a turn and bring a song, poetry or story to share (well save dancing for our wilder ceilidh nights!).
The haggis will be piped in and well have all the traditional speeches including To a Haggis, Immortal Memory, Tae the Lassies, and Reply Fae the Lassies. The evening will be hosted by local councillor Melanie Main, and joining her will be Councillor Gavin Corbett, Andy Wightman MSP, Alison Johnstone MSP and Lorna Slater.
We've a full three-course Burns Supper including local cheeses, Breadshare oatcakes, Macsweens meat and vegan haggis, organic neeps and tatties from East Lothian, followed by cranachan. All washed down with local and organic wines, beers and single malts available from the bar.
Doors open at 7pm with everyone to be seated for the piping of the haggis by 7.30pm. Places are limited to 100 guests so do reserve your place now.
Please buy your tickets in advance (as they'll go quickly!) and so we know (a) how many to cook for, (b) your dietary requirements, and (c) any musical/poetic offerings.
If you are booking as part of a 'Burns' table' please let us know which table or otherwise choose 'unreserved table' when booking your tickets.
This event is fundraising for the local elections in May 2017 and celebrating with Edinburgh Green Party.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
