Jonathan Kruk's "A Christmas Carol" at Tompkins Corners
Master storyteller Jonathan Kruk, selected Best in the Hudson Valley, returns to Tompkins Corners Cultural Center to perform Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol on Wednesday, December 28th at 7 pm.
Kruk gives life to over thirty characters in a dramatic solo performance of "A Christmas Carol." Add the ambiance provided by original music accompaniment by Jim Keyes on a portal pipe organ, with bells, harp, violin, and chains, and opening with a lively sing along of "The Twelve Days of Christmas," and you've got a unique dramatic version of "the perfect tale of haunting redemption and hope."
Running about an hour, Kruk abridges Dickens 27,000 word opus to a family friendly show. Performing in colorful 1840s garb, Kruks sonorous, ever changing voice, along with Keyes score, is enchanting holiday entertainment for the whole family.
Tickets are $15 for adults $10 for children 12 and under. With the kids home from school Christmas week, attending the early evening performance will be a delightful way for families to prolong the Christmas spirit. Refreshments will be available.
