ROBERT BURNS SUPPER
Please join us at the historic Sportsmen's Lodge to pay homage to Scotland's national Bard.
The annual celebratory tribute to the life, works and spirit of the great Scottish poet, Robert Burns (1759-1796), will be celebrated on 28th January, 2017. In our great tradition established at the formation of the Society in 1930, we will start the evening with the time honoured procession of the Haggis, led by our Society pipers and drums. Burns poem "Address to A Haggis" will follow recited by our own Bard for the evening. Haggis will be served accompanied by the traditional sauce (whisky for the uninitiated). Then follows the meal, Tri-tip, Scottish Salmon, or vegetable lasagna with sautéed spinach and fresh marinara, dessert and coffee. Each table will be served a complimentary bottle of white and red wine.
Recitation of works by, about, and in the spirit of the Bard will occur throughout the evening as well as the traditional "Toast to the Immortal Memory", "Toast to the Lasses" and the "Lasses Reply".
Reception complete with a whisky tasting sponsored by Alexander Murray & Co., passed hors d'oeuvres, and full no-host bar. Dancing and entertainment will round out the evening.
