Gangspil, feat. Sonnic Lydom, Kristian Bugge, and Morten Alfred Høirup
Rainshadow Recording, in cooperation with Centrum, is very proud to present the acclaimed Danish trio, Gangspil in an intimate performance at Rainshadow Recording Studio on Tuesday, November 29th. Gangspil is Sonnich Lydom (accordion, harmonica), Kristian Bugge (fiddle) & Morten Alfred Høirup (guitars, vocal). The trio was recently nominated for the Danish Music Awards for Folk 2016 in the category for 'Keeping the traditions alive. Additionally, each of the musicians, Morten, Kristian and Sonnich has been nominated in the category "Musician of the Year. Many of you might remember them from their performances at the 2015 Festival of American Fiddle Tunes. If not, expect everything from wild polkas and jigs to lyrical waltzes, fiery reels and happy hopsas, plus the exotic Sønderhoning dance tunes from the famous Island of Fanø, and long forgotten songs from all over the country... an unforgettable live experience spiced up with humor and stories from their many years on the road.. This is sure to be a delightful night of music, taking you on an entertaining journey through the varied traditions of Danish folk music.
