Cohen Bray House invites you to come to our Valentine Tour and Tea,
The house was built in 1882-1884 by Julia Moses and Watson A. Bray, for their daughter, Emma, upon her marriage to Alfred H. Cohen on February 28, 1884. We will be celebrating the 133 anniversary of this wedding by displaying rarely seen objects from the original wedding.
The house has been lived in by the Cohen Family for 133 years and is now an Historic House Museum on the National Register and is an Oakland Landmark.
Stepping into the house is like going back in time as the house has not been changed since 1884 when the bride and groom moved in. The house is full of amazing artifacts that demonstrate the life and culture of one family over 130 years. Books, photos, flatware, art, furniture, clothes, and much more are available to observe and study.
The tea will begin with a tour of the upper rooms of the house and then after tea you will tour the lower floor.
We encourage you to wear period clothing from 1880's to 1960's.
Be sure to dress warmly as the house is not heated in every room.
