Stephen Fearing - Songwriting Workshop

As a companion event to the January 14th concert, this ticket purchase includes the special Album Release Concert + Songwriting Workshop package.

Internationally-renowned for his songwriting, Fearing found other musicians and writers seeking his counsel on a regular basis. This opportunity to help fellow artists became the inspiration for the creation of songwriting workshops he has offered in a variety of venues, including the illustrious Banff Centre.

The Songwriting Workshop, open to just 15 Victoria-area musicians, focuses on defining and examining the basic elements of a song through performance, discussion, and writing. "In so-doing, I hope to show the essentials of craft and form and help to demystify such things as tension and release, melody, groove, and meter. Mostly I try to inspire the participants to step out of their regular patters and restrictions," Fearing explains.

Workshop Details:
Located in Esquimalt
11am to 4pm, with a lunch break
Participants can bring their own refreshments or purchase at nearby restaurants.
Additional Album Release Concert tickets are available for $25 advance / $30 at the door (general admission seating)
