Paris Nights
A concert of jazz-inspired French music for piano, violin, clarinet, and saxophone.The composers of post-WWI Paris were irresistibly drawn to American Jazz. The confluence of impressionism, cabaret, and jazz left its mark on French music throughout the 20th century. Paris Nights takes us back to those early years of smoke-filled cafes and bawdy cabarets. Violinist Eline van den Ende performs regularly with Symphony Silicon Valley. She and Geordie Frazer have played with the San Francisco Symphony, Ballet and Opera orchestras.In addition to his career in classical music, Geordie is an accomplished jazz musician who has performed with artists such as Johnny Mathis, Natalie Cole,Smokey Robinson, and Tony Bennett. As a Trio, the group has performed in salon concerts since 2014. Performing music by Poulenc, Ravel, Eychenne, and Defontaine.
Performers are Eline van den Ende, violin; Geordie Frazer, saxophone/clarinet; Ava Soifer, piano.
